Community & Service Groups
Environment Group
The Environment Group encourages the HSC Community to be aware of its waste and the impact it may have on future generations. The group’s current focus is raising awareness of the damage to our environment caused by single-use plastics. The group welcomes all new members who support the message: ‘Reduce, Re-use and Recycle’.
IMPACT Group
The Christian Leadership Group at Holy Spirit College fundraises and supports many Catholic organisations including the local chapter of St Vincent de Paul Society, Caritas and Catholic Mission. This group participates in campaigns such as the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal, Backpacks for the Homeless and Project Compassion to support those who have been affected by natural disasters.
Justice Action Group
The Justice Action Group has members from Years 7 to 12 to raise awareness of local and global social justice issues through activities such as fundraising and petition letters.
Z Club
The Z Club, mentored by the Mackay Chapter of the Zonta Club, fundraises and raises awareness for worthy causes affecting the local, national and international community. Activities include assembling birthing kits for women in developing countries, fundraising for Australian farmers affected by the drought, and raising awareness of domestic violence.
